Founder and Managing Director
John Tourtelotte is the founder of Rivermoor Energy (2008) and leads the company’s solar, energy storage and energy resiliency planning, development, financing and investment initiatives. John’s experience includes successfully developing the two largest solar assets in the City of Boston, developing one of the first portfolios of utility and commercial solar assets in Massachusetts, and creating the first model for community clean energy resiliency in New England. John is a certified Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) planner and solution provider. Earlier in his career, John gained general management, marketing and sales management experience in the technology industry with i2 Technologies (enterprise supply chain software), Siebel Systems (acquired by Oracle Corporation) and MCI Communications. John holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
Partner
Christine Kwak is a senior member of the Rivermoor Energy team. Christine leads clean energy and EV charging development and project finance for Rivermoor Energy. Christine Kwak has over twenty-five years of experience the commercial real estate industry, with expertise ranging from acquisitions and dispositions to debt originations of more than $4 billion.
In her current role, Christine is a Partner of Rivermoor Energy, a Partner the AOZA Fund and a Partner of the Linneman ARPA Fund, and Senior Asset Advisor at American Land Fund Management, responsible for capital transaction activity. Christine is also a cofounder and President of KL Realty, a private investment firm launched in 2010 in partnership Dr. Linneman, and founder of Aris Real Estate Ventures, a west coast-based investment firm. Prior to co-founding KL Realty with Dr. Peter Linneman, Christine was a Managing Director at Shorenstein Properties in San Francisco, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing capital transactions for commercial office assets in the Western United States.
Earlier in her career, Christine served as a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs in New York, and as a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young’s Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Practice. Christine serves as a full member of the Urban Land Institute, and has served as a board member of the San Francisco chapter of NAIOP, as well as an advisory member of the California Alumni Association Finance Committee at U.C. Berkeley.
A graduate of University of California Berkeley with a B.A. in Architecture, Christine went on to earn her M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Director, Project Development and Management
David leads clean energy and EV charging and clean energy project management and operational management for Rivermoor Energy.
David served as the lead Project Manager for Rivermoor Energy’s $3.1 million project development for the Town of Deerfield’s federally-funded Charging Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) grant project. The Deerfield CFI grant project, completed in 2024, includes four ports of NEVI-compliant EV fast charging, four ports of Level 2 charging, and the complete redevelopment of a brownfield vacant lot into a green space, with green stormwater infrastructure and pedestrian improvements in Downtown South Deerfield, MA. The project is the first CFI EV fast charging project completed in the Eastern U.S. and the second nationwide.
David is an experienced professional with over thirty years of city planning, public administration, climate adaptation and project management experience. Prior to joining Rivermoor Energy’s team, David served as the Director of Facilities Management and Central Services for the City of Northampton, MA (from 2007 to 2021).
Project Manager
Marco Castillo is a Project Manager for Rivermoor Energy for the planning, development and financing of clean energy assets, including EV charging assets and infrastructure.
Marco focuses on project management and on identifying high-quality solar, storage, clean energy and EV investments, analyzing siting of assets on privately-owned and municipally-owned sites, building and analyzing financial models, and fundraising. Marco also plays a key role in the underwriting of new clean energy and EV charging investment opportunities and asset management Rivermoor Energy and its associated investment entities. Marco worked as a part-time intern at Aris Real Estate prior to his full-time role working for Rivermoor Energy and Aris Real Estate after completing his collegiate baseball career.
Marco played varsity baseball at Claremont McKenna College, serving as team Captain, while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in economics, then attended Georgetown University, where he completed a Master’s degree in Real Estate while playing Division 1 baseball for two seasons for Georgetown.
Marco holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA and a Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University.

Brian Rigney is a Managing Director in the Equity Capital Markets Group at Deutsche Bank where he is Head of the Monetization Services Group (“MSG”) and Head of Institutional Block Trading. His group handles all transactions on behalf of corporates and insiders, including share repurchases, tender offers, ATM offerings and other monetization alternatives. Over the past four years at the firm, Mr. Rigney was a Managing Director in Institutional Trading. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr. Rigney was at Morgan Stanley for seven years where he was a Director in Equity Trading where he built, launched and managed their small-cap trading initiative. Mr. Rigney received his B.A. from Bucknell University in Economics, a Masters degree from Columbia University in International Affairs and an M.B.A from The Wharton School.
Advisory Board
David G. Gaw is a Boston-based commercial real estate executive and investor. Mr. Gaw’s experience includes his role as the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Heritage Property Investment Trust, Inc., of Boston MA, from 2001 to 2006, when the company was acquired by Centro Watt. Mr. Gaw was responsible for directing Heritage’s initial public offering and served as the Trust’s primary interface to the investment community. He developed and implemented short and long term financial strategies for the company, oversaw capital markets, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, tax, information systems and internal audits. Mr. Gaw also served as Senior Vice President, CFO for Boston Properties between 1982 and 2000. While at Boston Properties, Mr. Gaw oversaw the company’s initial public offering, the largest real estate IPO that had ever been completed at that time. Prior to Boston Properties, he was Corporate Controller and CFO for The Norwood Group, Inc. of Bedford, MA, from 1979 to 1982. Mr. Gaw holds an M.B.A. and a B.S. from Suffolk University.
