Independent Utility Increases Clean Energy
- Rivermoor Energy worked with the Devens Utility Division to plan the use of solar energy as a component of the utility’s overall power portfolio. At that time in 2009, the utility was essentially 100% reliant on conventional sources of electrical power.
- Rivermoor Energy identified several feasible locations from an infrastructure and engineering perspective before working with Devens to select an optimal site proximate to core utility operations.
- The Devens Utility Division grid receives 100% of the solar power produced by the three megawatt solar asset, substantially reducing utility operating costs while adding a clean source of locally-produced energy to the utility’s portfolio.
