Utility Solar Complements Hydro Assets

  • Rivermoor Energy and Holyoke Gas & Electric began working together to plan, engineer and develop a utility scale solar asset in 2009. The objectives of the solar development were to: reduce the utility’s overall cost of electrical power by gaining a solar generating asset producing during the utility’s peak periods, to complement the utility’s existing significant hydropower production profile, and to increase the total percentage of power produced through clean and local sources.
  • The approximately 800 kilowatt solar asset is located immediately adjacent to existing Holyoke Gas & Electrical operational facilities.
